Three shepherds met
Sunbeam, sunflower.
And talked to each other thus:
Come on, brothers, let us go
Sunbeam, sunflower.
And pick some little flowers.
And make a crown out of them
Sunbeam, sunflower.
And knit it joyfully.
And take the crown to Christ,
Sunbeam, sunflower.
For the good of us all.

This Romanian carol is documented from the late 18th,early 19th century.
Between 1948 and 1989, one got arrested for singing these or any other similar carol publicly. The very word "Christmas" was banned. Saying it in a larger gathering meant expulsion from school or from any well-paid job. Only the carols making no explicit mention of Christ, Mary or the word Christmas were somehow permitted. But people still treasured them and they were never lost.
This is the most known Romanian carol probably. I'm looking forward to receive the kids from my street on Xmas eve and treat them with cakes and money, of course:-). So are the habits here.
What about you? How do you treat your caroling guests?
This isn't another " Last Christmas ," but it is another downcast George Michael sung Christmas song. It's his first since the 1984 Wham! tune. NME reports that it'll be available for a free download at GM's site (and other non-George Michael digital sites) on Christmas Day. They also note it was recorded for Eli Stone , on which Michael has a recurring role, so expect dramatic visual happenings, too. You really don't need to know any of that, though, to hear the melody that saved George on those less than silent nights.
A classic masterpiece!
I know it is a bit early, but I have decided to begin a series of posts with some Christmas related videos, wallpapers, carols etc. I won't forget traditional Romanian stuff, but I'll start with a Disney classic I hope you will enjoy again.
